1. Policy Statement

Avsec Resilience Ltd is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all learners, staff, visitors, and contractors. We recognise our duties under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and all applicable UK health and safety legislation.

We aim to:

  • Prevent accidents, injuries, and work-related ill health.

  • Provide safe and suitable training venues, facilities, and equipment.

  • Ensure that health, safety, and wellbeing considerations are integral to all our training activities.

  • Promote a culture of safety and responsibility among all staff and learners.


2. Scope

This policy applies to:

  • All in-person training sessions delivered by Avsec Resilience Ltd at our venues or client premises.

  • All staff, trainers, learners, visitors, and contractors involved in our training activities.

  • Remote and virtual training, in relation to safe use of equipment, ergonomic considerations, and learner wellbeing.


3. Responsibilities

Directors and Management will:

  • Ensure suitable arrangements are in place for health and safety.

  • Provide resources, information, instruction, and training to staff and contractors.

  • Regularly review health and safety performance.

Trainers and Staff will:

  • Deliver training in a safe and responsible manner.

  • Carry out risk assessments where required.

  • Report hazards, accidents, or near-misses promptly.

Learners and Delegates are expected to:

  • Take reasonable care of their own health and safety, and that of others.

  • Follow safety instructions provided by trainers or venue staff.

  • Inform trainers of any medical conditions or additional support needs that may affect their participation.

  • Refrain from disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate behaviour.


4. Training Venues and Equipment
  • Venues used by Avsec Resilience Ltd will comply with applicable fire safety, first aid, accessibility, and welfare standards.

  • Delegates will be informed of emergency arrangements at the start of each session.

  • Equipment used in training will be maintained in safe working order.

  • Where training involves practical activities or specialist equipment, additional risk assessments and safety briefings will be provided.


5. Remote and Virtual Training
  • Delegates should ensure their own working environment is safe and free from hazards (e.g. trip hazards, poor seating posture).

  • Breaks will be scheduled in longer sessions to reduce fatigue and maintain wellbeing.

  • Technical support will be provided where possible to ensure safe and effective participation.


6. Incident Reporting
  • Any accidents, near-misses, or health and safety concerns must be reported immediately to the trainer or Avsec Resilience Ltd contact.

  • All incidents will be recorded and investigated, and corrective action taken where required.


7. Review of Policy

This policy will be reviewed annually, or sooner if there are significant changes to our operations, relevant legislation, or identified risks.
